Romanian Orthodox Parish Sibiu - The Tiglari Church "The Birth of the Mother of God" is composed of faithful Orthodox Christians from the city of Sibiu, Romania.

In 1997 the parish received the land located on Tiglarilor street no. 105 next to the former candle making workshop of the Archdiocese of Sibiu, where the people began to build the new church, which will have the patronage of "The Nativity of the Mother of God" , the necessary expenses will be covered by voluntary donations from our parish believers and other benevolent people.

The corner stone of the new place of worship was held on August 19, 1998 by PS Vicar Bishop Visarion Rășinăreanul with the blessing of IPS Antonie Plămădeală. However, the works began on 27 November 2001 after a fundraising campaign when the foundation of the church was cast. Although the place of prayer was not finished, the faithful people improvised a church in a nearby warehouse offered by the Archdiocese of Sibiu. With a heart full of godliness, the provisional sanctuary dedicated to Saints Ioachim and Ana, was adorned with icons and worship objects, and on Sundays and on feast days it becomes to crowded for the people gathered to obey the word of the Lord.

At present, the construction is about 70% finished, but due to insufficient funds it has been necessary to renew the building authorization 3 times.

We appeal to your willingness to support the construction of this church, either with money or building materials.

We hope that although the main concerns are nowadays more focused on the economic side of living, you will still support us in this endeavor that addresses the spiritual side of people, joining those who will strive to become THE FOUNDERS of this holy place that will testify over the years our journey through this earth.

We pray that "THE FOUNDERS AND BENEFACTORS OF THIS HOLY PLACE TO BE REMEMBERED BY THE LORD GOD IN HIS KINGDOM ALWAYS, NOW, FOREVER AND EVER!".
